Soon, they are hired by Omar Suarez to pay money to a group of Colombians. When the deal goes wrong, Tony and Manny leave with the money and succeed in their job. Soon Tony meets with drug kingpin Frank Lopez and falls for his boss's girl, Elvira. Pretty soon Tony will know that those who want it all, do not last forever; that is the price of power. Slant Magazine review

This is a positive review about Scarface and talks about the many things that are memorable in it, the famous lines, the constant swearing, Tony's accent, the violence, and the slight sign of comedy in this nightmarish world, for example when 'Tony is telling a little kid on the beach to watch as the mafioso's friend Manny (Steven Bauer) gets slapped by a girl' Overall this review presents Scarface in a positive way and would make any reader that's into gangster type movies want to watch this movie as it ticks all the boxes in that category.

ReelViews review

This is negative review about Scarface talks about poor acting shown by almost all the actors throughout the movie and  how very uninteresting it is and that 'there is limited entertainment value for those who savor over-the-top, gratuitous exploitation'. The Critic makes the plot sound typical and boring which would put off most readers, it does talk about one or 2 scenes that are good but still puts them down in the end. He ends it with saying 'The movie does not get better with repeat viewings' which makes us all think its not worth watching at all.

My opinion

I personally thought Scarface was a very interesting movie. Tony's rise to power and then fall was very interesting to see, I also agree with the first review about memorable lines, my personal favorite being 'Say hello to my little Friend!', I feel this line is very powerful as we know that all is lost for Tony but he continues to fight on and seems fearless in the face of danger, maybe because he realizes that he has lost everything he loves, his wife, his sister, and his best friend, so he has nothing to live for, so what is there to fear? We also get to see how a man can go from nothing, to everything and then to nothing at all again because of greed. Scarface is definitely worth watching twice!
